"Impatient Gardener"

Medium : a live tree with some add-in woodsticks

Size : depends from the measure of the tree

The idea was based on some unfinished houses in Syria in the seventies, when people didn't use to finish the concrete appartment houses, but left some unmounted iron bars to spear up to the sky. This was for me the symbol of hope to earn later more money and to continue the building with one more floor, also in case, that the family grows, and it is necessary to build one more flat on the top of the apartment.

These iron bars can be seen as a sign of disorder. For me it was also a sign of positive trust in future, the hope that difficult financials will get better after one or two years and that family will grow bigger.

The Impatient Gardener has also other possible interpretations then the starting point, which I described. One a very abstract level it is an image of restlessness and the good hope that we can deal with our desire and impatience without hurting our human or natural invironment.
