" I am overpopulation"

recently I had an idea for a work, it's a performance, me sitting on the floor of a museum totally covered with black clothes, like in tchador and holding very tight an orange balloon on my lap. Above my head on the wall there'd be a handwritten note “R. dreaming about overpopulation”.

yes,” R. is overpopulation” is more radical, “dreaming” about overpopulation is more sentimental, although it was my intention to put such a subjective word like “dreaming” into a sentence aboutoverpopulation.

“R. is overpopulation” is not good either, the title could be: “I am overpopulation”.

I had an other idea with your slogan “I am overpopulation”, we could make a T-shirt with this sentence, so the concept would be more “democratic”, not only me, selected artist in disguise would claim during the performance to be the personification of overpopulation, but everybody could wear this slogan.

the idea is very good, the T-shirt with the statement I AM OVERPOPULATION will have two possible meanings in a relation to one who is wearing it. 1. in one case it is solidarity with the group (any of those groups) which is accused for overpopulation. 2. in other case, if it wears the accused group (any of those groups) it means a representation of the resistance, and has “I don't hide”-meaning. Paradox is that every group accused another one for the overpopulation. This is the topos of racism.

yes, your statement is good, because it is radical like the slogan. In my interpretation the simple aim of these works is to approach the existing tensions in a poetic way instead of adapting the bleak form we give often to the images, which represent political and ecological problems.
